Scene: Times Square in New York City. Two friends, Sofia and Aiden, have just arrived for their first visit. They’re standing near their hotel with their suitcases, looking at a city map on Sofia’s phone.

Sofia: I can’t believe we’re actually in New York! This is amazing, Aiden.

Aiden: I know, right? I’m really excited to see Central Park. How many parks does the city have, anyway?

Sofia: Let me check… Wow, it says here there are over 1,700 parks!

Aiden: Seriously? That’s crazy! So where do you want to go first?

Sofia: I’ve been reading about the museums here. Apparently, some of them are among the best in the world!

Aiden: Oh yeah! I really want to visit the Met—the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It’s supposed to be huge, with hundreds of galleries and thousands of paintings.

Sofia: Me too! And they have that Egyptian temple inside—the whole thing, not just pieces of it.

Aiden: I love this city already! I’m also thinking about checking out some universities while we’re here. Maybe I’ll apply to one after I graduate.

Sofia: That would be amazing! Okay, we have so much to see. Where should we start?

Aiden: How about we drop our bags at the hotel first, grab some food, and then we’re good to go?Sofia: Perfect plan! Let’s do it.

Scene: Times Square in New York City. Two friends, Sofia and Aiden, have just arrived for their first visit. They’re standing near their hotel with their suitcases, looking at a city map on Sofia’s phone. Cena: Times Square na cidade de Nova York. Dois amigos, Sofia e Aiden, acabaram de chegar para sua primeira visita. Eles estão parados perto do hotel com suas malas, olhando um mapa da cidade no celular de Sofia.

Sofia: I can’t believe we’re actually in New York! This is amazing, Aiden. Sofia: Não acredito que estamos realmente em Nova York! Isso é incrível, Aiden.

Aiden: I know, right? I’m really excited to see Central Park. How many parks does the city have, anyway? Aiden: Eu sei, né? Estou muito animado para ver o Central Park. Quantos parques a cidade tem, afinal?

Sofia: Let me check… Wow, it says here there are over 1,700 parks! Sofia: Deixa eu verificar… Uau, diz aqui que há mais de 1.700 parques!

Aiden: Seriously? That’s crazy! So where do you want to go first? Aiden: Sério? Isso é loucura! Então, onde você quer ir primeiro?

Eu realmente quero visitar o Met—o Museu Metropolitano de Arte. Supostamente é enorme, com centenas de galerias e milhares de pinturas.

Sofia: Me too! And they have that Egyptian temple inside—the whole thing, not just pieces of it. Sofia: Eu também! E eles têm aquele templo egípcio lá dentro—o templo inteiro, não apenas pedaços dele.

Aiden: I love this city already! I’m also thinking about checking out some universities while we’re here. Maybe I’ll apply to one after I graduate. Aiden: Já amo esta cidade! Também estou pensando em dar uma olhada em algumas universidades enquanto estamos aqui. Talvez eu me candidate a uma depois que me formar.

Sofia: That would be amazing! Okay, we have so much to see. Where should we start? Sofia: Isso seria incrível! Ok, temos tanto para ver. Por onde devemos começar?

Sofia: Perfect plan! Let’s do it. Sofia: Plano perfeito! Vamos fazer isso.
